What is Labor Day?
What is Labor Day? Most of us think of this holiday as a welcomed long weekend. We also see sales and specials from many retailers, parades, athletic events and parties. Is this what they had in mind back in 1894? I don’t think so.
Back in the late 1800s, Labor Day was created to give the American worker a day of rest. It was intentionally made on a Monday to ensure that workers took a real day of rest from work. This was at a time when the American worker had a typical 12 work day. The conditions for many workers were also challenging and unacceptable in today’s standards.
In the spirit of Labor Day’s origins, Freight would like you to celebrate by giving yourself a day of rest. We are not doing the resting but we hope you will! So if you are thinking about brunch in Woodstock, let us serve you our Crab Cake Benedict Poser, one of our Omelettes, or a Waffle dish.
Come in and join us. Opening at 11 AM for brunch and closing at 9 PM for rest.
