The farm to table movement is alive and well in downtown Woodstock restaurants this fall. Freight Kitchen & Tap embraces the season change with opportunities to change up the menu and take advantage of the local farms fresh fall produce. We include pecans, beets, snap beans, corn, tomatoes, zucchini, collards, and potatoes on our fall menu this season.
Freight is pleased that we are mentioned in Farm Fresh Georgia as a farm to table restaurant. We just know that it makes our dishes taste fresher and better. We like to highlight the simplicity of delicious vegetables. Autumn is a great time to do this because there are so many great choices in season.
You can prepare fall vegetables in many ways. Freight chefs are using a variety of methods to use tasty and colorful vegetables for things like succotash or hash. Incorporate these fresh ingredients as the holiday season approaches to make your meal special. Pumpkin is one common seasonal vegetable that is used for the holidays. Pumpkin pie is usually on the Thanksgiving table. There are also less common but still very good ways to celebrate with produce that is fresh from the farm. We look forward to offering all our guests a unique southern take with a farm to table spirit.
