Joy to the world, December has come! Well, close enough. We are so excited for the upcoming holiday events in downtown Woodstock, GA. Experience the Friday Night Live “Christmas in Downtown” event this Friday December 1st from 6 PM to 9 PM. Knock out some holiday shopping, as all the downtown merchants are staying open late and offering sales. Snap a free photo with Santa Claus at the Woodstock Visitor Center, just BYOC (bring your own camera). Be sure to sport your ugliest Christmas sweater so you can win the ugly sweater contest. And of course, hop on over to Freight for dinner where you can dwell in the ultimate holiday ambience. We recently put up our Christmas tree, poinsettias, and other festive decorations.
If you think Friday’s event sounds fun, you will definitely jump for joy over Saturday’s Christmas Jubilee Parade of Lights. For the 20th year in a row, this parade will light up downtown Woodstock with fun for the whole family. The parade starts at 5:30 PM on December 2nd, but plan ahead because of road closures and limited parking. Head over as early as 2 PM to see a free performance of A Christmas Carol at the Elm Street Theater. Just like the 4th of July parade earlier this year, Freight has a float in the Parade of Lights. Come out rain or shine, it’s sure to be divine.
After a weekend of excitement, wind down (or get rowdy) with us Monday December 4th for another NFL burger battle. The Pittsburgh Steelers face the Cincinnati Bengals at 8:30 PM and the following burgers will be offered:
Pittsburgh Steelers Primanti Burger – 8 oz. dry aged local beef patty, seasoned fries, tomato, coleslaw, spicy ranch, and cheddar cheese.
Cincinnati Bengals Burger – 8 oz. dry aged local beef patty, chili, onion, cheese, and beans.
Don’t forget to pair your burger with a local draft for just $4 more!
Happy holidays from our Freight family to yours.
