Do you ask yourself, “what’s the latest news about local craft beer at restaurants near me?” Well, we can certainly speak for Freight Kitchen & Tap. Now that April is here, we have a new brewery of the month.
Have you ever heard of Wild Leap Brewing? If not, we’re ready to teach you about them. A rather young brewery, Wild Leap began in 2017 in a little town called LaGrange, GA. Cofounder, Anthony Rodriguez, one day made a toast to “wild leaps and following your passions”. Needless to say, that moment represents a significant part of the brewery’s fruition.
Breweries often have great background stories, especially about the history of the buildings they choose to occupy. In Wild Leap’s case, an old tire shop seemed ideal. Rodriguez drove past former Westbrook Service & Tire Company and said aloud, “that would be a really cool spot for a brewery”. This guy was clearly onto something. With massive support from the LaGrange and Troup county community, Wild Leap was born. Mayor Jim Thornton himself expressed his excitement stating Wild Leap will “be an important anchor” and “expand the footprint of our downtown area beyond the square”. Good job, Wild Leap!
Did you know that every Monday Freight sells any draft beer for just $4? That’s right, you can’t beat it. If you can’t be here on a Monday, but really want to try a Wild Leap brew, don’t panic. You can purchase any Wild Leap beer for $6 any other day of the week throughout April.
Stay tuned for information about our Easter Sunday brunch! We love to celebrate holidays with you all and we try to make them special for your families. We are booked for the day, but if you’re willing to wait, we accept walk ins. Have a happy weekend!
