Did you know that Reformation Brewery held a special event for us this past Sunday? It included a cocktail contest with local craft beer. The goal was to create a cocktail with local craft beer from Reformation using any additional ingredients desired. Many Freight team members entered, but only a few drinks came out on top. The criteria were based on creativity, drinkability, ability to sell throughout the week, ease to create, and of course, cost to make. According to the judges, every drink was amazing and exceeded expectations tremendously. The deliberation process wasn’t easy, but here are the results:
1stPlace(Justin) – “Cherokee Rose” made with Haddy Belgian white, orange juice, peach puree, and strawberry puree. This drink will be on Freight’s new signature cocktail menu available in two sizes. Perfect patio beverage.
2ndPlace(Zach) – “Michelada” made with Haddy Belgian white, Freight spicy bloody Mary mix, and a coriander salt rim. This drink will be on Freight’s new brunch cocktail menu. There’s nothing like a bloody Mary with your weekend breakfast.
2ndPlace B(Kailen) – “Cadence Creamsicle” made with Cadence double Belgian, Frangelico, Bobby’s orange ice cream, and rhubarb bitters. This drink will constantly be offered as a drink special and should be a huge hit as we enter the warmer months.
Kristy– “Ginger Handy” made with Haddy Belgian white, ginger beer, mint, and lemon.
Dustin– “Grand Manmosa” made Jude triple Belgian, Grand Marnier, and J Roget champagne.
Zach– “Champagne Cocktail” made with J Roget champagne, Nolan IPA, strawberry puree, and peach puree.
Kaitlyn– “Kaitlyn’s Krave” made with Haddy Belgian white, blueberry infused vodka, squeezed lime, squeezed orange, and blueberries.
You can try any of these drinks on June 8thwhen we have a beer tent for the Better than Ezra concert! Huge congratulations to everyone and especially a huge thanks to Reformation for hosting the contest.
