Have you been to one of the best restaurants in Woodstock, GA lately? And yes, we’re talking about Freight Kitchen & Tap. Whether you’re a first timer or a regular, now’s the time to dine with us. Our new summer menu has set sail and folks are loving it. How does hot chicken, steak frites, or a brisket plate sound for dinner? We import locally from Coleman Farms Chicken and Bear Creek Cattle Company. Produce and other ingredients are also thoughtfully sourced, thanks to Forerunner Foods, CalyRoad Creamery, and Logan Turnpike Mills.
Best Restaurants in Woodstock, GALocal Craft Beers
You know what else is locally sourced? Freight’s selection of craft on draft. We love partnering with local breweries for the sake of building relationships and sharing each other’s stories. This week, some of our front-of-house staff got to visit Burnt Hickory Brewery in Kennesaw, GA. They toured the brewery and sampled many delicious beers like Cannon Dragger IPA, Big Shanty Graham Cracker Stout, Didjits Blood Orange IPA, etc. Owner Scott Hedeen and his punk rock team taught our staff a lot about the different processes it takes to make certain beers. Needless to say there’s more chemistry to beer than the love connection we have with it. Scott also taught our staff a lesson in community when he voiced that Freight was one of the first places to tap Burnt Hickory beer in 2012. We had them, they had us. It goes to show that big things can happen when you support small businesses.
Don’t forget! Jekyll is our brewery of the month. Buy any Jekyll beer on draft to receive a complimentary pint glass. Choose from Hop Dang Diggity IPA, Pineapple Habanero Hop Dang Diggity IPA, or Tart Vise Raspberry Tart Ale. Tart Vise pairs well with our beet or superfood salad, talk about a perfect summer lunch! We’ll See you soon.
